BALDWIN — Pentwater hadn’t played away from its own gym since Jan. 11, and there was understandably some concern how quickly the Falcons would find their rhythm Friday night in Baldwin.

It was also the Falcons’ first meeting with the Panthers in the West Michigan D League this season, making the adjustment all the more interesting for Pentwater.

But, after taking some time to get their legs after the bus ride, the Falcons eventually kicked it into gear and crushed the Panthers, 61-30.

“The game was a bit sloppy throughout, but we were able to weather the chop and cruise,” Pentwater coach Joe Gorton said. “We could have made things a bit easier on ourselves if we could finish our bunnies, but I was proud of the girls’ ability to remain composed through some silly mistakes.”

The Falcons are now on a three-game winning streak.

Pentwater opened up a 24-10 lead at the end of the first quarter, and outscored the Panthers, 12-7 in the second to enter the half with a 36-17 lead. It was 46-25 after three.

Three players scored in doubles for the Falcons, led by Aubrie Adams with a game-high 19. Charlie Swanger followed with 13 and Mandi Sayles finished with 10.

Nyla Robinson led the Panthers with 12 points.

Pentwater is 6-2 overall and 5-2 in the conference. The Falcons host Walkerville in another league game Wednesday.
