FRUITPORT – The Fruitport Calvary Christian boys basketball team bounced back from Monday’s loss in a strong way against West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science on Tuesday evening. The Eagles won handily, 80-45.

“The players held a players-only meeting today, and they came out ready to play tonight so I give our boys credit for taking ownership,” said Calvary coach Brad Richards.

Bradley Richards continued to pile up the double-doubles with 38 points and 10 rebounds.

Quinn Swanson also had a high-scoring night as he poured in 24 points, while Sam Zelenka posted a double-double of 18 points, 10 assists and five steals.

“If they can keep their commitments to each other, we have a chance going forward to do something special,” Richards said.

Calvary Christian (9-6, 1-2) will be at home against Hesperia on Friday.
