HOLLAND – The Spring Lake girls basketball team couldn’t keep up against Holland Christian on Wednesday evening.

The Lakers dropped the OK Conference-Blue matchup, 64-38.

“The Maroons started fast and we just could not match their energy,” said Spring Lake coach Rich Hyde.

The Lakers went down 20-12 after the first quarter and continued to trail through to halftime, 28-19. A Maroon third-quarter scoring run of 17-9 put the Lakers even further behind.

Alexa Carter scored 12 points for the Lakers and Ella Andree added nine. Bethany Zimmerman chipped in four points.

Spring Lake (7-3, 3-2) will be at Hudsonville Unity Christian on Friday for more league play.
