Spring Lake turns up the intensity of defense, runs over Allendale in league game

ALLENDALE – The Spring Lake girls basketball team was led by a strong defensive effort in a 44-22 OK-Blue victory against Allendale on Monday evening.

The defense limited Allendale to just seven first-half points led 23-7 at the half. The Lakers only gave up 15 more points in the second half.

Alexa Carter led with 17 points and six rebounds, while Ella Andree chipped in 11 points, five steals and four assists. Tessa Britt scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds. Brooke Bolthouse contributed seven points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Spring Lake (9-3, 5-2) will visit Western Michigan Christian on Tuesday.
