MANISTEE – The White Cloud girls basketball team hit the road and found themselves in a defensive low-scoring affair against Manistee Catholic Central on Friday evening.
The teams stayed within three points of each other throughout the entire game, but White Cloud managed to lock down Manistee Catholic Central in the fourth to hold the lead and win, 22-19.
“Our defensive pressure and quick rotations limited them to only two points in the fourth, and at the other end, we were able to find enough offense to take the lead and hold on,” said White Cloud coach Caleb Wilk.
Jaden Gomez led with seven points and seven steals. Tanayah Klammer added five points.
“Tonight, I felt like everyone did their job when called upon,” said Wilk. “We were able to get all of our players in the game and each player did something to help us win. I witnessed heart, grit, and determination in this game and that makes me proud.”
White Cloud (4-5, 1-2) will be at Holton on Monday.
