Spring Lake girls golf team wins Division 2 regional, headed for state finals

The Spring Lake girls golf team captured a Division 2 regional championship Thursday and qualified for the state finals.

Mona Shores won its Division 1 regional on Wednesday and also qualified for state. Rylee George, the Sailors’ top golfer,  was the overall medalist at that regional.

Spring Lake shot a team score of 352 with Anna Kramer taking individual first place honors with a round of 77. Tying for fourth place were Spring Lake’s Kayla Krueger and Ginnie Olszewski with rounds of 91. Emma Conroy took 10th with a 94 and Madelyn Nelson finished eighth, shooting a 93.

Western Michigan Christian’s Abbie Alfree will also be heading to the state finals as an individual after finishing fourth with a round of 85 at a Division 4 regional on Wednesday.
