The Mona Shores girls’ basketball team finished strong on Friday night in a 35-26 win over Zeeland East in an O-K Green clash.

The Sailors trailed 5-2 at the end of the first quarter, but heated up offensively in the second quarter and took a slim 18-17 advantage at halftime.

Mona Shores took a 25-21 advantage heading into the final quarter before closing the contest on a 10-5 run to preserve the win.

Khaleeya Cook and Katie Phillips led the Sailors with eight points apiece, while Maddie Russell had six and Logan Clausen scored five.

Mona Shores is 12-9 on the season, 8-6 in conference play.
