The Fruitport boys’ basketball team ended a disappointing regular season with a 68-37 loss to Hamilton on Friday night.

The Trojans trailed 13-7 at the end of the first quarter, 33-10 at halftime and 44-23 heading into the final quarter.

“While tonight did not go well in many ways on the court, we are looking forward to heading into the state tournament next week with a 0-0 record and look to compete our hearts out,” said Fruitport coach Steve Erny. “It was Senior Night tonight. Our four seniors, Caiden Austin, Kyle Burke, Daiton Campbell, and Nathan Carlisle, have all committed so much to this team and we are grateful to have them be a part of our program over the past four years.”

DayDay Williams led the Trojans with nine points, while Hudson Hazekamp added eight. Both Burke and Ryan Bosch chipped in with six points.

Fruitport will open districts on Monday against host Orchard View.
