In convincing fashion, Spring Lake upends Hudsonville Unity Christian in girls’ hoops

SPRING LAKE – The Spring Lake girls basketball team capped off Senior Night with a convincing 50-20 win against OK-Blue foe Unity Christian on Friday evening. 

The win helps the Lakers claim third place in the conference.

“We started our five seniors, Anna Hyde, Alexa Carter, Clara Saunders, Brooke Bolthouse and Ella Andree, who immediately set the tone for a stellar defensive night,” said Spring Lake coach Rich Hyde. 

The Lakers got 16 points from Carter, 13 points from Andree and six points from Bolthouse.

“This group of seniors is a special group and will be sorely missed next year,” said Hyde. “However, they are not interested in this season coming to an end yet.”

Spring Lake (14-6, 9-5) will be at home on Thursday against Zeeland West.
