GRANT – The Montague boys’ basketball team capped off the regular season with a 75-67 win against Grant on Thursday.
The Wildcats outscored the Tigers 43-30 in the first half. The Tigers managed to find a spark in the second half and made a valiant effort with a 37-32 scoring advantage, but it wasn’t enough.
Both teams had four players score in double-digits.
Isaiah Atchison led the Wildcats with 16 points, while Paul Olson and Owen Raeth added 14 points apiece. Cole Herremans tossed in 11 points.
The Tigers’ Zaiden Phillips led all scorers with 18 points. Lucas Swanson and Oakley Obenauf each scored 14 points. Ethan DeLong put up 13 points.
Montague (13-9 overall, 5-7 WMC Lakes) will be at Orchard View on Monday to face Spring Lake in the district opener.
Grant (14-7 overall, 8-2 CSAA) is set for district play at Orchard View on Wednesday.
