MUSKEGON – The Orchard View boys’ basketball team, led by Delaney Oakes, topped Fremont, 64-57, in a WMC Lakes contest on Thursday night.

“We did some good things offensively, but just did not play well at all on the defensive end,” said Fremont coach Adam Bowen. “Our effort will have to be much better defensively if we hope to be successful in the tournament.”

Delaney Oakes led OV with 21 points. Stephon Oakes added 14 and Carri Flowers had 12.

Chaz Miller led the Packers with 23 points, five assists and five rebounds, while Gavin Richards chipped in eight points and nine rebounds.

Orchard View (5-16 overall, 2-10 WMC Lakes) will close out the regular season at home against Shelby on Friday.

Fremont (8-14, 4-8) is set to host Kent City on Monday to kick off district action.
