RAVENNA – The Pirates could do no wrong in Ravenna as Hart’s girls basketball team dispatched the Bulldogs 66-25 on Thursday.
The first half went exactly how Hart wanted as full-court pressure led to easy, transition buckets that put them on top 19-4 after one. That effort continued into the second quarter as each team doubled their output, leaving the Pirates on top 37-8 at halftime.
The Pirates shot more than 50 percent from the field in the first half, including seven 3-point baskets.
High percentage shots continued to put Hart in a good position to win in the second half. In all, 10 of 11 girls scored to race the Pirates to the finish line.
Addi Hovey led the way for Hart, scoring 20 and adding nine rebounds and three assists. Bresyln Porter added 11 points while Abby Hicks and Rilynn Porter each had seven. Hicks also had six seals, six rebounds and five assists while Porter added 10 assists and four steals.
The Pirates (9-3, 6-0 WMC Rivers) remain undefeated in the conference as they prepare for another showdown with Mason County Central on Tuesday.
