FRUITPORT – It’s always satisfying to beat your rivals on the basketball court.

On Friday night, the Spring Lake boys’ basketball team had that exact feeling after a 58-37 victory over league rival Fruitport. The OK-Green contest was played at the home of the Trojans.

The Trojans led 12-11 after the first quarter, but the Lakers offense warmed up after that and cruised to the victory.

Spring Lake was led by Eli Morrison with 17 points and Colin Burt with 16. Karson George scored nine points and pulled down seven rebounds.

The Trojans’ Ryan Bosch put up 14 points, while Grade Anspach and Kyle Burke scored nine and seven points, respectively.

Spring Lake (9-7, 4-4) will be at Coopersville on Tuesday for more conference play.

Fruitport (4-12, 0-8) hosts Holland Christian for league action on Tuesday.
