ALLENDALE – The Muskegon Community College Jayhawk track and field team turned in some solid performances at Grand Valley State University this weekend.

The Jayhawks recorded 33 personal bests at the collegiate level, three school records, a pair of top 20 national marks and one top 10 national mark.

Kyler Dean set a school record in the mile with a time of 4:14. That time puts him in the Top 20 in the nation for NJCAA Division 1.

Bryce Turner ran a school record time of 48 seconds in the 400-meter dash, which ranks 21st in the nation.

The Distance Medley Relay team of Daniel Gomez, Turner, William Ripple and Dean raced to a ninth-place finish in the national.  That time also qualified them for the national meet at the University of Florida.

The Jayhawks have one final tune-up meet before nationals.  That comes up this week, again at Grand Valley.
