MONTAGUE – Anna Lundquist helped the Oakridge girls’ basketball team finish on top in a tight game against Montague in WMC-Lakes action on Friday.

Lundquist put up a double-double of 20 points, 18 rebounds and six assists to edge out the Wildcats, 40-38.

“It was a hard-fought battle that came down to the wire,” said Oakridge coach Saxon Smith. “Another great defensive night for our girls.”

The game was back and forth with the game tied at 23-all at the half and 28-all heading into the fourth quarter. The Eagles used strong defense to create more opportunities at the offensive end in the fourth quarter.

Destiny Bowen scored nine points for the Eagles.

The Wildcats Braylyn Bultema and Addison Pranger posted nine points apiece. Adilynn Peterson and Ella King each scored six points.

“I’m proud of the way they are turning a corner at this point in the season,” Smith said.

Oakridge (7-13, 3-8) will be at home on Tuesday for league play against Manistee.

Montague (7-13, 4-7) will travel to Orchard View for a conference contest on Tuesday.
