Mona Shores jumped out to a 15-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 23-19 at halftime.

The Rockets took a 31-29 advantage heading into the final quarter after going on a 12-6 third-quarter run.

The Sailors countered in the fourth quarter with a 23-18 run to complete the upset victory.

Travis Ambrose led Reeths-Puffer with 16 points, 22 rebounds and six blocks, while Jaxson Whitaker added 16 points and three steals. Antrel Jones chipped in with 10 points, 14 rebounds and five steals for the Rockets.

“We had a tough night sustaining our offense,” said Reeths-Puffer coach Nate Aardema. “We hurt ourselves by shooting just 9-for-17 from the free-throw line. Mona Shores made the plays when they needed to.”
