WALKERVILLE – A pesky Muskegon Catholic Central boys basketball team put the pressure on Fruitport Calvary Christian for a 63-41 Division 4 district win on Wednesday night. 

The Crusaders forced 28 turnovers against the Eagles.

Owen Lyonnais led the way with 21 points, five steals and three assists, while Q Lorenz added 11 points and three steals. Jake Westhoff posted a double-double of 10 points, 10 rebounds and two steals. Jacob Lyonnais chipped in 10 points, six steals and five assists.

“It’s a tough way to end the season, but give the Crusaders credit, they played tremendously well and we never could get on track,” said Calvary Christian coach Brad Richards. 

The Eagles’ Bradley Richards had a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds. Sam Zelenka scored 19 points and Quinn Swanson scored eight points.

Muskegon Catholic (6-18) will take on Muskegon Heights Academy on Friday with a district title at stake.

Fruitport Calvary Christian ends the season 11-12.
