ESCANABA – The Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team handled the high-scoring Bay College for a half, but couldn’t contain the Norse in the second half.

The host Norse put up 50 second-half points and defeated the Jayhawks 84-77 on Saturday.

The Jayhawks used long-range shooting to stay in contention. MCC shot 55 percent from the floor and 50 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

MCC led 39-34 at the half, but got outscored 50-38 in the second half.

The tightly contested game featured 11 ties and nine lead changes.

Jadakiss Lewis led MCC (5-10) with 18 points, six assists and five rebounds. Ben Clark added 15 points and four rebounds while Jacob May had 14 points.

On Wednesday, the Jayhawks head to Mid-Michigan Community College.
