SHELBY – North Muskegon’s boys basketball team continued on the road to an unbeaten season on Tuesday, rolling past Shelby 57-35.

Playing on consecutive nights is always a test, and both Shelby and North Muskegon were on their second of back-to-back games. The difference for the Norse was the ability to string together more offense, propelling them to the win.

Shelby had opportunities to keep things close in the first half, but missed opportunities had them in an 11-point hole after halftime. Forced shots in the second half buried the Tigers and allowed North Muskegon to increase their lead.

The Norsemen were led by Adam Dugener, who had 18 points, five rebounds and four assists. Lamarkis Graham added 15 points, six rebounds, four steals and four assists while Jaxon Lisinski had 14 points. James Young chipped in eight points and four assists.

Shelby was paced by Phillip Hayes with 14 points and nine rebounds. Wyatt Dickman threw in nine points and four rebounds.

North Muskegon (20-0, 10-0 WMC Rivers) is now two games away from completing a perfect regular season with Hart and Holton the only teams in their way. The Norsemen will host the Pirates on Friday.

Shelby (3-15, 1-8 WMC Rivers) continued on a five-game losing skid and will hope a meeting on the road with Hesperia will lead them on a positive streak as districts approach.
