BIG RAPIDS – The Pentwater girls basketball team had a cold shooting night and fell to Big Rapids Crossroads Charter Academy, 38-28 on Monday.

Pentwater was behind from the beginning, but managed to get the score within three points in the third quarter before some crucial missed shots came into play and halted a comeback.

“We will take these lessons to heart as we move on towards the tournament,” said Pentwater coach Joe Gorton. “We have to make the most of our opportunities when playing solid opponents like Crossroads Charter Academy.”

Sam Schaefer led with 11 points and Mandi Sayles scored seven points. Mackenna Hasil chipped in six points.

Pentwater (10-6, 7-6) will travel to Mason County Eastern for league play on Wednesday.
