The Spring Lake boys’ basketball squad couldn’t overcome their early 21-7 deficit as they fell to Coopersville 49-36 on Tuesday night.

The Lakers cut their deficit to 23-15 at halftime after holding Coopersville to two second-quarter points.

The Broncos responded with a 19-9 third-quarter run to take a 42-24 advantage heading into the final quarter.

Eli Morrison paced Spring Lake with 15 points while Karson George scored 10.

The Lakers are now 9-8 on the season, 4-5 in O-K Blue Conference play. They will host Allendale in their next contest on Friday night.
