Spring Lake’s girls play solid defense, turn back Coopersville in OK-Blue matchup

The Spring Lake girls’ basketball team was dominant on defense on Tuesday night in a 44-29 victory over Coopersville in OK-Blue action.

The Lakers, who gave up single digits in all four quarters of play, trailed 9-8 at the end of the first quarter, led 23-16 at halftime and 35-25 through three quarters of play.

Alexa Carter paced Spring Lake with 18 points and seven rebounds while Ella Andree scored eight points. Tessa Britt chipped in six points and pulled down five rebounds.

The Lakers are now 12-3 on the season and 7-2 in O-K Blue action. They will host Allendale on Friday night.
