HOLLAND – The Spring Lake boys basketball team continued to struggle to finish close games as they were handed their seventh loss of six points or less on Tuesday night.

The Lakers were edged out by Holland Christian, 38-37, in OK-Blue play.

Both teams battled back and forth and were tied at 26 going in to the fourth quarter. The Lakers managed to find a little spark and established a five-point lead with just a minute left to play.

However, Holland Christian went on to make a three-pointer and recovered a turnover to set up the winning basket as the Lakers buzzer-beating attempt failed.

Eli Morrison scored 11 points for the Lakers, while Colin Burt and Karson George added eight points apiece.

Spring Lake (9-10, 4-7) will visit Grand Rapids West Catholic on Friday for conference action.
