GRANT – The White Cloud boys basketball team shook off Grant, 77-70, in CSAA play on Wednesday evening.

The Indians were down 23-18 after the first quarter, but managed to cut the deficit to go into the halftime break tied at 38-all. The momentum continued for White Cloud and it went on to grow a lead.

“We made a lot of clutch shots and free throws down the stretch,” said White Cloud coach Bob Jones. “I’m proud of this team. We played very well tonight.” 

KJ Strait had a game-high 30 points for the Indians, while Jared Watson scored 17 points. Noah Robinson threw in 15 points and Jayden Robinson had 14 points.

The Tigers’ Oakley Obenauf put up 22 points and Zaiden Phillips scored 17. Ethan DeLong chipped in 10 points.

White Cloud (16-3, 8-1) will be at home for conference action against Reed City on Friday.

Grant (12-5, 7-2) is set to host Kent City on Friday for a conference contest.
