The Fruitport Calvary boys’ basketball team coasted past Byron Center Zion Christian 65-44 on Friday night on senior night.

The Eagles had a commanding 60-30 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

“Everyone is proud of our boys’ effort tonight, and the last several games as our guys are really starting to play very good basketball, moving the ball and six guys scoring tonight but most importantly we really played some defense,” said Fruitport Calvary coach Brad Richards.  “I know they are looking forward to a tremendous battle in districts up at Walkerville.”

Quinn Swanson paced the Eagles with 29 points and six assists while Bradley Richards added 19 points and 15 rebounds. Sam Zelenka chipped in with 12 points and 11 assists.

Fruitport Calvary ends its regular season with an even 11-11 overall record.

The Eagles will open district play on Wednesday in a semifinal contest against the winner of Big Rapids Crossroads and Muskegon Catholic Central.
