KALAMAZOO – The Whitehall Vikings’ wrestling team ran into a dynasty known as Dundee again on Saturday in the Division 3 State Team Finals.

Dundee, winners of seven straight state titles, defeated the Vikings, 49-20 at the Wings Events Center in Kalamazoo. It’s the second straight year the Vikings have fallen to Dundee.

Dundee has been to the state title match every year since 2013 and won 10 titles in those 12 seasons.

In the final match, Dundee captured victories in the first five matches to take a big lead right out of the gate. Whitehall’s Ryan Goodrich won his match at 157. Gavin Craner (175), Wyatt Jenkins (190) and Jason Smith (285) were the other Viking wrestlers to post victories.
