KALAMAZOO – The No. 2-ranked Whitehall Vikings will be taking on top-ranked Dundee on Saturday afternoon with a Division 3 MHSAA Team Wrestling state title at stake.

Whitehall defeated Clinton, 44-24, earlier Saturday to earn its berth in the state title match. Dundee defeated No. 4 Constantine 49-22. 

Saturday’s title match is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.

Whitehall will be looking to dethrone Dundee, which has won six straight Division 3 wrestling titles and nine since 2013. Last year, Dundee defeated Whitehall 60-18 in the state title match.

On Saturday, the Vikings won six of the first eight matches to gain a 29-12 lead before Clinton won three straight and cut the lead to 29-24. Whitehall won the final three matches to gain the victory and advance.
