WYOMING – The Hart Pirates capped off the regular season in girls basketball not only with a victory, but a milestone.
Hart defeated Potters House 54-47, and late in the game, senior Addi Hovey scored the 1,000th point of her storied career.
The teams were deadlocked at 12-all after one quarter. Potters House used an effective press in the second quarter and took a 26-20 lead into the half.
In the final quarter, Hovey made a steal and hit the layup to hit the scoring milestone.
Reese Smith led Hart with 17 points. Rilynn Porter had 11 points and did a solid job handling the ball against pressure. Addy Hicks and Hovey each hit double figures with 10 points. Hovey also had six rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Hovey is the third Pirate to reach the mark. She joined Landyn Lorenz and Amy Pickard Contreras.
