WHITE CLOUD – The Hart softball team split a doubleheader with White Cloud on Wednesday.

The Pirates fell in the first game, 10-6, but came back to win the second game, 10-0.

Gabby Quijas gave up seven hits and 10 run. She struck out five batters and walked one.

The Pirates’ defense committed nine errors and that resulted in seven unearned runs for the Indians.

Gabby Schmeiding had three hits, one a double, and scored two runs. Kelsey Copenhaver added two hits and three RBI. Maryn Klotz had a pair of hits.

The Pirates shifted gears in the nightcap and shut out the Indians.

Hart pitcher Reese Smith gave up just one hit, allowed three walks and struck out nine.

Cali Eisenlohr had two hits at the plate.

Hart will host Orchard View for a doubleheader on Friday.
