GRAND RAPIDS – The Spring Lake baseball team lost game one against Grand Rapids West Catholic, 2-0, on Tuesday before the weather cut the nightcap short.
Maddux Kipling took the loss on the mound and struck out six batters.
The Lakers led game two, 1-0, into the second inning.
Oliver Smies had a pair of hits for Spring Lake, while Gabe Trask added a hit. Zach Schlepp had a double.
Spring Lake (8-3 overall, 4-3 OK-Blue) will make up the rest of game two as part of a home doubleheader on Thursday.
