SCOTTVILLE — The Mason County Central baseball team ended its losing streak with a convincing West Michigan Conference doubleheader sweep of Hesperia at home Tuesday, 6-0 and 12-1.
 
Pierce Bladzik was dominant on the hill in the first game, hurling a masterful two-hitter and ringing up 13 strikeouts. He issued just one walk through seven innings.
 
Owen Shimel and Bladzik each rapped out two hits to lead the Spartans at the plate. Bladzik collected three runs batted in. Kaden Ruiz stole three bases.
 
Peyton Merz started the second game on the hill and worked two innings. He gave up one run and struck out six. Bryan Thurow relieved him and threw another two innings with five strikeouts. Shimel finished the game.
 
The Spartans had five hits, with five different players getting one apiece. Merz drove in two runs. Hesperia’s pitching issued 10 walks.
 
Mason County Central hosts Montague on Thursday.
