LUDINGTON — Victory No. 1 took some time in coming, but it finally did for the Ludington girls soccer team Monday when the Orioles took a 3-1 win over Ravenna at Oriole Field.

Ironically, although Monday was the Orioles’ first win of the season, they have not been beaten in the West Michigan Conference after a pair of ties.

All three of the Ludington goals came in the first 40 minutes. Scoring for the Orioles were Madison Gasaway, Elianna Jeruzal and Maddie Billings. Gasaway also recorded an assist.

Cambria Britton and Grace Ashley split time in goal for the Orioles. Britton started there in the first half, and Ashley in the second.

The Orioles are 1-5-3 overall and 1-0-3 in the conference, with a road trip to Manistee scheduled for Wednesday in another conference matchup.
