SCOTTVILLE — The Mason County Central girls softball team swept a West Michigan Conference doubleheader from Hesperia, 20-9 and 18-4 at home Tuesday.
 
Both games went five innings.
 
Wren Nelson picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle in the first game, allowing nine runs (eight earned) on 10 hits, six walks and seven strikeouts.
 
Aubrey Chye led the Spartans offense with a 3-for-4 performance that included a triple. Riley Mast was 2-for-2 with a home run and a double with four walks and Aylin Davila was 3-for-5. Mikaylah McVicker was 2-for-2 with two doubles and Emily Adams, Grace Wienert and Nelson each had two hits while Ellie Bendele and Anna Sterley each had a hit.
 
Leading the offense for the Spartans in the second game were Davila and Wienert, who each went 3-for-4. Emily Adams, Chye, Bendele and Madi Sherretz had two hits apiece while Mast and McVicker contributed one hit each.
 
“I’m proud of how well these young ladies played today,” said Spartans coach Jon Blake. “Each and every batter in the lineup got a hit in the first game.”
 
The Spartans improved to 4-4 overall and 4-2 in the conference and are scheduled to host Montague in another conference matchup on Thursday.
