The Mona Shores baseball team defeated Holland in comeback fashion 3-2 on Tuesday night.

The Sailors were supposed to play a doubleheader, but the nightcap was postponed due to rain.

Mona Shores trailed 2-0 in the seventh inning, but tied the game on a two-run triple from Jayden Ammeraal, who also scored the eventual game-winning run on an overthrow by the Dutch.

Brady Recknagel allowed two unearned runs on three hits and struck out 13 batters. Nathan Opfermann earned the win on the mound in relief by recording the last four outs for Mona Shores.

Zack Keessen had three hits to lead the Sailors offense. Ammeraal had another single to add to the game-winning triple.

Game 2 will be resumed on Thursday.

The Sailors improve to 7-3 overall and 5-2 in the OK-Green play.
