It was a soccer battle that went right down to the bitter end and ended in a scoreless tie.

The Oakridge Eagles and Grand Rapids Covenant Christian Chargers went back and forth all night long without determining a winner.

Eagle goalkeeper Alayna Weiss was strong in the net with nine saves. Covenant had a 9-8 advantage in shots on goal.

“Both teams’ defenses did a great job of limiting solid scoring chances in the back-and-forth affair,” said Oakridge coach Greg Fleener.

Oakridge (4-4-2) hosts North Muskegon on Monday.
