The Oakridge Eagles flexed their extra base muscle on Tuesday in a softball doubleheader sweep of the Fremont Packers.
 
The Eagles won the opener 14-1 and the nightcap, 14-3. Both games went five innings.
 
Oakridge (9-3, 6-0) belted four home runs in the twinbill and added a handful of doubles. Three of the home runs came in succession in the second game.
 
In the opener, winning pitcher Kylee Willea allowed five hits. She struck out seven and walked one.
 
Kaelinn Jozsa had three hits, one a home run, and knocked in three runs. Madi Bowen had a double, two singles and three RBI. Rylee Vanderputte had a double and a single. In all, the Eagles had 13 hits.
 
A nine-run third inning for the Eagles put them in the driver’s seat.
 
McKenzie Gugins had a pair of singles for Fremont.
 
In the nightcap, the Eagles got off to a solid start with three straight home runs by Jozsa, Kelcey Osborne and Gracie Clark. The Eagles put up five runs in that opening inning.
 
Clark also had two doubles to go along with her home run.  Osborne added a single for a two-hit game. Brenna Cabrera had a double, two singles and knocked in three runs. Ahria Doornbos had a double, a single and two  RBI.
 
Josza was the winning pitcher. She allowed five hits and struck out seven.
 
The Packers were led by Elise Pfeifer and Maddie Baden. Each had a hit and an RBI.
 
Oakridge takes on undefeated Reeths-Puffer on Thursday.
