Reeths-Puffer softball team wins Game 1, second game called due to darkness against Allendale

MUSKEGON – The Reeths-Puffer softball team posted a win and a tie in a doubleheader against Allendale on Thursday evening.

The Rockets cruised to a 16-6 win in the opener. The second game was called due to darkness with the game tied at 5-all.

Lainey McDaniel had five strikeouts in three innings of work on the mound for Reeths-Puffer and Kyleigh Bilek had one strikeout in two innings.

Abbie Critchett had one single, two doubles and four RBI, while Kyleigh Bilek had one single, two doubles and two RBI. Emma Buzzell had a single and two RBI. Natalie Kunnen added a double and two RBI.

In the second game, Kyleigh Bilek and Critchett stole bases in the bottom of the fifth to help clinch the tie.

Mady Snyder gave up five hits but struck out five batters in five innings.

Jersy Bilek had a triple, while Kyleigh Bilek had a single and a double. Kunnen chipped in two singles.

Reeths-Puffer will visit West Ottawa on Saturday for a doubleheader.
