HART – The Hart baseball team won in walk off fashion on Thursday, defeating Kent City 8-7 on a game-winning hit by Blake Weirich.

The Pirates jumped out to a 2-0 lead before giving up seven unanswered runs to trail 7-2 late in the game.

Hart came back to tie the game 7-7 heading into the seventh inning before ultimately winning the contest on its final at bat.

Avery Guikema, Carter Ramseyer and Tyler VanderZanden each spent time on the mound for the Pirates.

Weirich paced the Hart offense with three hits, two runs scored and an RBI, while Aiden Coker added two hits and two RBI. Halen Boos chipped in with two hits and two runs scored.
