WHITEHALL – The Whitehall baseball team split its two games against Zeeland East and Bay City John Glen on Saturday.

The Vikings fell to Zeeland East, 8-1, then came back to edge Bay City John Glen, 8-7.

Kyle Stratton gave up nine hits and six runs on the mound in the opener. Evan Thomas stepped in and allowed two hits and two runs.

Eli Winters had a pair of hits and Isaac Van Amberg had one hit and a run. Noah Meinert, Brock Morningstar and Ryne Christensen each chipped in a single.

In the second game, Van Amberg gave up two hits, five runs and struck out six, while Christensen allowed two hits, two runs and struck out four.

Morningstar chipped in two hits and scored two runs. Stratton had one hit, two runs and an RBI, while Christensen threw in a hit and two runs. Nate Betz had one hit, one run and one RBI.

Whitehall is set to visit Montague on Tuesday for a West Michigan Conference doubleheader.
