GRAND RAPIDS – The Mona Shores girls lacrosse team fell to Grand Rapids Northview, 18-6, in conference action on Tuesday night.

Northview came into the match ranked No. 3 in Division 2.

“The game was close early, but like what we do to others, they did to us,” said Mona Shore coach Chip Vasquez. “Their relentless ball pressure and team speed just wore on us. Ground balls are always key and they seemed to be just one step ahead of us all night.” 

Emma Reelman led Shores with three goals and a draw control, while Reese Smith added one goal, two ground balls and six draw controls. Lainee Carmean had a goal, two ground balls and three draw controls. Jordyn Briseno caused three turnovers, had three ground balls and gave a strong effort guarding Northview’s best midfielder, according to Vasquez.

Goalkeeper Ansley Hayward made 13 saves.

Mona Shores (5-7, 4-4) hosts Holland  West Ottawa on Friday.
