MUSKEGON – Jacob Lyonnais pitched a no-hitter in the nightcap as the Muskegon Catholic Central baseball team salvaged a split against West Michigan Aviation Academy on Tuesday.

The Crusaders fell in the opener, 3-2, but took the nightcap, 9-0. The games were played in the Alliance League.

MCC pitcher Dewey Modaff took the loss in the opener.

Bode Zygmuntowski, Bryan Convertini and Modaff each had two hits.

In the second game, Zygmuntowski  had a double and three RBI. Vince Syzmanski added a hit, two runs and an RBI.

Lyonnais had five strikeouts in his no-hitter.

Muskegon Catholic Central (27-6) will be at home on Wednesday against Oakridge.
