Ludington girls get offense in gear, earn league victory over host Whitehall

 

WHITEHALL – In its best offensive night of the season, the Ludington girls’ basketball team powered past Whitehall, 50-24 in the West Michigan Conference Lakes Division Thursday night.

 

The game was played in Whitehall.

 

Ludington led 14-4 after the first quarter and outscored the Vikings 19-8 in the second to build a 33-12 halftime cushion. It was 44-21 after three.

 

Elianna Jeruzal led the Orioles with 14 points, while Jordyn Anderson and Peyton Welch had 12 apiece and Jaelyn Laird chipped in with seven.

 

It was the Orioles’ third straight win and boosted their record to 4-2 on the season and 2-1 in the WMC Lakes. The Orioles next game is scheduled for Friday against Kingsford in the Irontown Holiday Bash at Negaunee.

 

Whitehall fell to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the WMC Lakes. The Vikings are off now until Friday, Jan. 3 when they travel to Oakridge for a WMC Lakes game.
