Ludington finishes 19th at Division 3 state swimming meet

 

YPSILANTI – The boys’ swimming team from Ludington took 19th place on Saturday in the Division 3 state finals at Eastern Michigan University.

 

The Orioles finished with 28 points. Cranbook Kingswood won the state title with 357 points. Holland Christian was second at 282.5. Spring Lake came in sixth with 132 and Fremont had 22 points for 24th place.

 

Several Oriole swimmers advanced to Saturday’s finals after strong performances on Friday.

 

In the finals on Saturday, the 200-medley relay team of Jaden Vronko, Ian Lundberg, Dylan Sniegowski and Gavin Smith placed 10th overall with a season-best time of 1:42.51

 

The 400-freestyle relay team of Dylan Sniegowski, Ian Lundberg, Gavin Smith and Grady Sailor placed 13th overall with a season-best time of 3:24.68

 

In diving, Sawyer Bishop placed 11th overall with an 11-dive score of 303.05.
