FREMONT – The Spring Lake girls’ basketball squad earned a victory on Tuesday in their season opener, 54-32, over Fremont.
The Lakers led 17-7 after the first quarter, 36-11 at halftime. Fremont played a much better second half, outscoring the Lakers 21-18 during that span.
Alexa Carter and Ella Andree led Spring Lake with 16 points each.
The Packers were paced by Mia Clemence with nine points and five steals, while Jessica Bennett added seven points and five rebounds.
