HOLTON – Natalie Rosel put up a double-double to help lead the Ravenna girls’ basketball team to a 42-26 victory over Montabella in the Division 3 district opener on Monday night.

Rosel had 17 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and a block.

The Bulldogs opened with an 11-3 run in the first quarter and 15-8 in the second to lead 26-11 at halftime.

The intensity slowed down for the Bulldogs after the break, but they edged out Montabella 6-5 to carry a 32-16 lead with a quarter left to go.

The 16-point lead stood through the end as both teams scored 10 points to close out the game.

Sophia Rosel scored seven points and had three steals, while Matti Crowley added four points, eight rebounds and a steal. Addi Gillard had 12 rebounds, four steals and two blocks.

Emily Postema threw in four points, four rebounds and two steals. Addy Woodring had four points, four rebounds and one steal.

Ravenna (15-8) will take on Morley Stanwood in the district semi-final at Holton on Wednesday.
