SHELBY – The Shelby girls soccer team faced less than ideal conditions for the season opener on a wet Wednesday evening.
The Tigers went down 2-1 by halftime and fell further behind in the second half to lose to visiting Tri-County, 6-3.
Kylie Brown led the Tigers with a pair of goals and Alyse Erickson added a single goal. Zoe Cornaby, Charlee Friedman and Delanie Smith each had an assist.
Shelby (0-1) hosts Fennville on Monday.
