HESPERIA–The Hart Pirates boys and girls cross country teams dominated the third West Michigan Conference Rivers Jamboree on Tuesday afternoon.

The meet was held at Baker Woods in Hesperia.

In the boys’ division, Hart finished with a total of 18 points. Runner-up North Muskegon had 72 points.

Other team results included Shelby (95), Ravenna (98), Mason County Central (101) and Hesperia (145).

Hart took the top four individual spots, led by senior Clayton Ackley, who took top honors with a time of 18:52.01. He was followed by senior Seth Ackley with a time of 18:52.04. Fellow senior Wyatt Dean came in third place with a time of 18:52.32. Sophomore Max Stitt came in fourth with a time of 19:01.95.

Other top ten runners included Gavin Shirey (Mason County Central), Jude Meldrum-Roy (North Muskegon), Evan Atkinson-Miller (North Muskegon), Jack Slotman (Hart), Easton Vander Zwaag (Hart) and Caleb Bitely (Hart).

In the girls’ division, Hart swept the first five spots. 

The Pirates finished with a team score of 15 while Mason County Central finished in second place 59 points and Ravenna finished in third place with 70.

Hart sophomore Jessica Jazwinski, the No. 1 runner in Division 3, took top honors with a time of 20:05.19. She was followed by her junior teammate Alyson Enns, who finished with a time of 20:18.97. Shelby senior Emma Soelberg came in third place with a time of 22:14.51.

The Pirates took spots four through nine, which included Lexie Beth Nienhuis, Savanna Owens, Abigail Pretty, Kenai Kohx, Lauren Pretty and Lilly Hopkins.

Mason County Central freshman Adison Thorne finished in 10th place.
