HOLLAND – The state ranked Spring Lake boys swimming team dropped a 108-77 OK Lakeshore Conference dual meet against Holland Christian on Tuesday.
Spring Lake came in as the No. 4-ranked team in Division 3. Holland Christian is No. 1.
“I was very proud of how the team responded to a fast run meet with little time to catch their breaths,” said Spring Lake coach Michael Homan. “It was good to see us swim and dive through the soreness of a tough meet. It was also good to see the team overcome the challenges and still be with the season’s best times.”
Noah Fletcher took first place in the 50 free (22.14) and finished second in the 100 free (50.04). The 400 free relay team of Fletcher, Lucas Williams, Alex Strauss and Ryan Fisher took first place (3:38.77).
Strauss finished runner-up in the 200 IM (2:08.42) and the 100 back (57.32), while Fisher Halsey came in second place in the 100 breast (1:04.67). Tyler Nutt, Strauss, Fletcher and Fisher were second in the 200 medley relay (1:43.80). Ben Goran, Williams, Daudelin and Fisher earned second place in the 200 free relay (1:37.12).
