MUSKEGON – The Muskegon Community College Lady Jayhawks faced a familiar foe on Tuesday night in an NJCAA Division II Great Lakes District A game.
And, it was a pretty familiar result as the Lady Jayhawks defeated North Central Michigan 73-42 at Bartels-Rode Gymnasium. Last week, MCC put up 100 points in a game against North Central.
On Tuesday, it was a strong start for MCC, which jumped out to a 15-4 lead early on and led by 15 at the half.
Arrionna Williams led the Lady Jayhawks with 16 points, four rebounds and seven steals. Anna Lundquist posted another double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. She also had two steals and two blocks. Jayna Edmondson hit double figures with 12 points. Tyvi Davis had six points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
“Our team has come back this week after being down with sickness, and despite everything, we won this game,” said MCC coach Jason Cooper. “It’s on to the next one now. “
The Lady Jayhawks travel to Mott Community College at 4 p.m. Friday for a regional semifinal game against Marian Ancilla.
