Several area golf teams made their way to the state finals this weekend as did a number of individuals. North Muskegon (Div. 4) and Ludington (Div. 3) both finished fourth while Pentwater (Div. 4) finished 11th.

Ludington’s fourth place finish in Division 3 placed them behind state champion Lansing Catholic who scored a two-day total of 633. The Orioles finished with a 667.

Chase Lakari led Ludington with a 158 (79-79) and finished tied for ninth overall individually. Race Andersen totaled a 159 (73, 86), Ethan Leavitt scored a 160 (81-79) and Jacob Harrie finished with a 196 (88, 108).

Will Mierz led North Muskegon in Division 4 and finished tied for 10th overall individually with a 160 (83, 77). The Norse finished with a team total of 665 behind state champion White Pigeon (654). Mitch Edick shot a 164 (81, 83) for the Norse while Garrett Rebone totaled a 164 (84, 80), and Connor McEvoy shot a 177 (88-89).

Pentwater’s Sam Wagner finished second overall with a 151 (75, 76) which was four strokes shy of tying for first place. Pentwater finished with a 692 as a team. Alex Wagner totaled a 172 (90-82), Chance Helms shot a 181 (93, 88) and Derek Malburg finished with a 188 (100, 88).

Mona Shores’ Mitch White competed individually and finished with a 148 (76, 72).

For Spring Lake, Ben Kramer finished tied in 10th place with a 153 (77-76).
